It’s almost time for Santa Paws to visit and the Christmas celebrations begin. Before you start putting up those decorations or planning your Christmas feast, have a read of this guide for tips on keeping your pup safe and happy this Christmas!

1. Decorations

If you dog enjoys eating things it shouldn’t, make sure you don’t leave any Christmas decorations that are dangling or that could drop some parts of the decoration on the floor (e.g tinsel, parts of a plastic Christmas tree).
It’s recommended to raise any decorations out of reach so that there are no risks of your dog ending up with blockages or stomach issues

2. What NOT to feed your pet at Christmas

Mmmm Christmas lunches and dinners! The time where all kinds of delicious platters, plates and bowls of amazing food is passed around from person to person. Whether your dog has mastered the art of puppy-dog-eyes to convince an unsuspecting family friend to give them some of their food, or if your dog has ninja like reflexes and catches food falling from the table before its even hit the floor, it’s important to remember there are some foods your dog cannot eat.

Here are a few of the main ones:

  • Chocolate

  • Cooked Bones

  • Onions, Garlic, and Leeks

  • Alcohol

  • Grapes, Raisins, and Sultanas

3. What you CAN feed your pet this Christmas
